Salty Olives AS is responsible for processing personal information collected as part of the business. The company operates in Norway and is subject to Norwegian law.

3. What personal information we process and why

We process personal information in three areas:

  • Purchases
  • Visits on our store
  • Digital marketing

We need your consent to process your personal information when you make a purchase or visit our website. You can withdraw this consent to the extent that we are still able to fulfill our requirements as described in our terms. Profiling in connection with marketing does not require consent, but you may still reserve yourself against this as described below.

We assume that anyone under the age of 13 has parental consent to share their personal information with us. If we are made aware of a lack of consent, we will delete this personal information.

Personal information when making a purchase

When you make a purchase on bokhyllekunst.no, we need your name, email address, address and phone number. This is needed for shipping and providing tracking information related to your order.

This information is stored by us and made available on My account. On this page, you can edit, add and delete addresses and phone numbers. You can also see your order history. To remove your account, contact us on  hi@bookshelfart.com.

In some circumstances we will use your contact information to contact you. We do this to inform you of any gift cards received and notifications in case of order delays. We reserve the right to aggregate order information, including yours, to improve our services. This helps up predict demand to optimize production capability.

By making a purchase, you consent to us processing your personal information. Without this information, we are not able to meet our obligations as described in  our terms (delivering your products).

Personal information when using our website

To run our website bokhyllekunst.no we collect and process personal information when you visit our website. This includes your IP address, operating system, which pages you visit and how you arrived at our site. Some of this information is required for technical reasons and some is collected to enable us to improve our services.

Personal information is collected and analyzed via cookies. These are tiny text files stored on your computer, tablet or phone. You can at any time unsubscribe using the link in each newsletter. Unsubscribing will also delete personal information collected for that purpose. You can ask us to delete personal information collected from your use of the newsletter. You may also protest our use of personal information to influence our marketing as described earlier.

4. Who we share personal information with

We never sell your information to third parties. All personal information is treated confidentially and for the stated purposes.

We need to provide some personal information to third parties to fulfill our obligations to you. These third parties are:

  • Inventory Management system providers
  • Shipping companies
  • Payment providers
  • Bookeepers
  • Newsletter systems providers
  • Customer service system providers

All our suppliers/partners are bound by data processing agreements that require strict routines for data security and the confidential treatment of personal information.  Since they process information for european citizens, they are bound by the same european law as we are, either directly or via agreements between their country and the EU. Some information, such as credit card number, is not available to us. Such sensitive information is only processed by our PCI DSS-certified payment providers.

All personal information our suppliers/partners receive from us is only to be used to further our business purpose and as authorized by us. If we ever have to share your information with other third partiers, it will only be when required by law or with your consent.

5. Where and for how long we store your personal information

All information is stored on servers in Norway. Any information we have to transfer out of Norway will only be transferred to countries that are verified by the EU to be compliant with GDPR, see Privacy Shield.

Your personal information will be deleted when we no longer have a legitimate use for them. Information provided when creating an account on bokhyllekunst.no is kept as long the account is active. Users can request deactivation by email. We do this to be able to keep providing you with products and so that you can access your complete order history.

Your email address is stored on your subscription lists as long as you are subscribed to our newsletter so that we are able to send it to you.

We store website usage information for up to two years.

 

6. Your rights

According to Norwegian and EU law, you have the right to

  • Withdraw your consent to share personal information
  • Protest that your information is used to influence our marketing
  • Receive a copy of your personal information
  • Correcting personal information
  • Deletion (under some conditions) of your personal information

Our processing of personal information rests primarily on your consent. If you withdraw it, we have to cease collection. We have the right to keep processing information you have already shared unless you instruct us to delete it.

For marketing purposes, we receive personal information on you from other services you use. You have the right to protest our use of this information, which forces us to respond within one month.

You can at any time contact us on  hi@bookshelfart.com  to request a copy of the information we have collected. These will be provided to you in a structured format.

You can correct your information using  My account. Changing email address or deleting your account must be request via  hi@bookshelfart.com. You can at any time unsubscribe an old email address and resubscribe with a new.

If you request that we delete personal information beyond newsletter and contact information, you need to contact us on hi@bookshelfart.com . Note that accounts with purchases can not be deleted until 6 months after the last purchase to enable us to do chargebacks in case of fraud. We are also obligated by law to keep some of your personal information if you have made a purchase.

To file a complaint on our use of personal information, please contact us by email. You always have the right to file a complaint with Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

 

7. Notice when policy changes

We may need to update this policy from time to time. In these cases, we will inform all customers by email.

In case of a data breach, we will notify you as soon as possible.
