Thomas Aquinas was a 13th-century Italian Catholic priest and Dominican friar who became one of the most influential theologians and philosophers in the history of the Catholic Church. He is best known for his works "Summa Theologica" and "Summa Contra Gentiles," where he systematically merged Aristotelian philosophy with Christian theology. Aquinas developed the concept of natural theology, arguing that reason and faith are complementary, not contradictory.
