Camilla Collett (1813-1895) was a Norwegian writer and a pioneering feminist figure in Scandinavia. She is best known for her novel "The District Governor's Daughters" (1854-1855), which critiques societal norms and gender roles, marking a significant contribution to early feminist literature in Norway. Raised in a prominent intellectual family, she was the sister of the poet Henrik Wergeland. Throughout her life, Collett actively campaigned for women's rights and education, influencing future generations of feminists in Norway.
