HAMSUN

Knut Hamsun was a Norwegian author, born in 1859, considered one of the most influential figures in modern literature. His works are noted for their exploration of human psychology and emotions, often depicted with a keen sense of nature and rural life. Hamsun's breakthrough novel, "Hunger," showcased his innovative narrative style and introspective character depictions. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1920 for his novel "Growth of the Soil." Despite his literary contributions, his legacy is also marked by controversy due to his support for Nazi Germany during World War II.
