PLA - Polylactic Acid

All our busts are printed in PLA.

PLA is a bio-plastic, usually manufactured from maize, that is a very common material in 3d-printing.

PLA is a safe material, often used in the foods industry. It is biodegradable and shares many of the benefits of PP, PS and PE plastics.

Temperature, strength

PLA is a fantastic material in many ways, but it has one downside - it doesn't tolerate high temperatures. At 50-60 degrees Celsius it will soften and can deform.

Can be cleaned in tepid water with mild soap.
