H.P. Lovecraft was an American writer born in 1890, renowned for his contributions to the genre of weird fiction and horror. He is best known for creating the Cthulhu Mythos, a shared fictional universe characterized by cosmic horror and ancient, otherworldly deities. Lovecraft's work, often centered around themes of forbidden knowledge and the insignificance of humanity, has become highly influential in the horror genre. Despite struggling with poverty during his lifetime and publishing mostly in pulp magazines, his posthumous reputation has grown significantly. Today, he is considered a seminal figure in horror literature, inspiring countless authors and adaptations.
